In the last 6 weeks, Customs and the Military have foiled 2 incidents of trucks trying to smuggle 500,000 rounds of live ammunition, via our land borders.

The first operation at the beginning of June, nabbed 3 trucks carrying 300,000 rounds of ammunition. The drivers and their accomplices fled.

The second operation today, foiled the plan to smuggle in 200,000 rounds of ammunition. Both driver and owner of the ammunition were caught, and will be charged once the investigation is complete.

Half a million rounds of live ammunition? 😲
