Israel offers to pay African migrants to leave or get jailed by Rebecca Akinremi The Israeli government has issued a notice for thousands of African migrants to leave the country or face imprisonment. Israel said on Wednesday that it would pay thousands of Africa migrants living illegally in the country to leave, threatening them with jail if they are caught after the end of March. Each migrant will be given up to $3,500 (about N1.2 million) to leave within the next 90 days. They will also be given the option of going to their home countries or third countries. If they do not leave, the Israeli authorities have threatened that they will start jailing them from April. The Rivers State government has placed a reward of N200 million to track killers of 16 persons, including women and children, who were returning from New Year cross-over in Om Wike said this on Tuesday during a visit to the community, alongside heads of security agencies in the state. The Lagos State Police Command, on Tuesday, uncovered a shrine at Ayegbami quarters, Imosan in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun, where suspected badoo cult members take oath before going on operations. The shrine was discovered in an operation carried out by the command, SARS and the Lagos State task force officers, following an arrest of some suspected badoo cult members. Properties worth several millions of naira were destroyed on Monday morning in a New Year fire blaze in Port Hardouer, River state. The fire, which started at about 5am, was reportedly caused by some recalcitrant persons who set a heap of condemned motor tyres afire around Njemanze Street, Mile 1 in Diobu area of the city. At least one petroleum tanker was burnt to ashes in the resulting blaze, which caused panic around the area. Baby allegedly stolen at RCCG camp reunited with mom, suspect caught by Samuel Awoyinfa, Abeokuta Ogun State Police Command says it has arrested a 28-year-old woman, Anuoluwapo Joshua, for allegedly stealing a three-year-old baby, Patience Francis, at Redemption Camp, along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. Police report indicated that the suspect had stolen the child since July 2017 during the monthly Holy Ghost congress, but she was apprehended on 29th December, 2017 at the Youth Ce ntre in the camp after a programme. In its defence to her suit challenging the freezing of her accounts, the commission argued that Mrs Jon athan does not run any business from which she could have earned such huge sums.
