Somethings you read that make your stomach twist... "One Dr. Jimade Ola-Solomon, a medical doctor has been declared wanted by the Nigerian Police Headquarters for being the head of an armed robbery gang. I unearthed some interesting facts about him. 1. He is on Facebook. 2. He is on Linkedin 3. He owns a hospital called Vital Care Hospital in Kubwa, Abuja 4. He wrote an op-ed piece for YNaija in 2013 titled "SEARCHING FOR A NEW YOU: ARE YOU A CANDIDATE FOR COSMETIC SURGERY? FACTS YOU SHOULD KNOW." 5. Guns and Ammunition were recovered from his hospital. 6. His five-member gang specialized in armed robbery and car snatching and have been apprehended by the Police. 7. He is currently on the run. What I find interesting about his profile is that he looked like a normal happy go-lucky guy who is a member of the medical profession. He had patients he attended to. Who would have thought he was an armed robber. Please re-assess the people on your Facebook friends list. ...

HOW OBASANJO ESCAPED DIMKA'S BULLET

HOW OBASANJO ESCAPED DIMKA'S BULLET It was on a Friday, the 13th February 1976, about 8.30 in the morning; the Head of State, General Murtala Ramat Muhammed; his ADC Lt. Akintunde Akinsehinwa; Orderly and driver were ambushed by a hit team as they drove in a black Mercedes Benz car without escorts. The car had slowed down at the junction in front of the Federal Secretariat in Ikoyi, Lagos, when the hit team struck, killing all the four occupants of the car. As the news of the death of the Head of State reached the arrowhead of the coup, Lt. Col. THISDAY BACK PAGE : ROME WAS NOT DESTROYED IN A DAY - Simon Kolawole

THISDAY BACK PAGE :  ROME WAS NOT DESTROYED IN A DAY - Simon Kolawole Sadiq Daba, the actor, ran into some serious health issues recently. He cried out for financial help to undergo foreign treatment. Pronto, Nigerians reacted overwhelmingly. But wait. I did not hear anybody talk about Daba’s religion or ethnic group. The people who tweeted and retweeted his appeal for help, and those who contributed money, were certainly not from his village. I was so so so so so happy. It confirmed, yet again, my pet theory about Nigeria — that we do not hate each other. We are just victims of the unending political manipulation of ethnic and religious identities for selfish gain. Evidently, ordinary Nigerians have the “Nigerian spirit” in their DNA. Indeed. I have met extremists and chauvinists from across religions and races. I am yet to hear anyone declare that we were not created by the same God. One of the most astonishing things about life, to me, is the fact that although we can cho...

WHY PRESIDENT BUHARI’S CASE IS DIFFERENT:                          Written by Joe Igbokwe Lagos

WHY PRESIDENT BUHARI’S CASE IS DIFFERENT:                          Written by Joe Igbokwe Lagos. First was former President Obasanjo’s letter asking PMB not to contest in 2019 citing many reasons why he has to leave the exalted office. It was quickly followed by another letter from former dictator Ibrahim Babangida asking PMB to step aside In 2019 for a younger president. This was followed by the hate and weeping from the losers of 2015 elections who are yet to come to terms with the situations they found themselves since the feeding bottles were forcefully taken away from their rapacious greedy mouths. It was quickly followed by the cries from those who for years had been stealing our crude oil, selling it and pocketing the dollars, those who stole billions of Pension Funds and Salaries of workers, those who stole trillions of Naira in the name of ...

Why Obasanjo's Letter Exposes His Ignorance About The True Depth Of The Nigerian Problem

Why Obasanjo's Letter Exposes His Ignorance About The True Depth Of The Nigerian Problem By Baridam Ben Nothing we no go see for this Nigeria. So Obasanjo is now an activist too, the founder of Coalition for Nigeria, a movement where A does not count, B does not count, the only thing that count is C which believes the sun only shine out of his own backside? Dare I say the biggest confusion we have to deal with today in Nigeria are the accidental emergency activists, half-baked in their thought process but carry themselves about with an air of annoying arrogance, the arrogance of a man who thinks he knows but actually does not know he knows nothing. You see them on radio, you see them on TV, you see them on the pages of newspapers, you see them scattered everywhere on social media, the product of a society with a suffocating abundance of half-baked graduates. The monster we created for years has come back to haunt us. I carefully peruse Obasanjo's letter wherein he asked Pres...
